Ghormeh Sabzi (Persian Herb Stew) – Cooking with Yousef

Hi friends –

Today, we make Ghormeh Sabzi, which is a traditional, authentic Persian Herb Stew. This is among Iranians favorite comfort food and is served in almost every Persian get-together, and of course, any Persian restaurant you go to.

It’s not difficult to make, but it requires some ingredients which might be a little harder to find.

I think if you make it this way, you will love it, even if you are at first unfamiliar with the taste.

Also, here is the video on how to make Persian Rice to serve with your Ghormeh Sabzi:

See you soon.

  1. My dad is like the best cook I know. I've been to other Iranian people's houses and most people have not been able to compare their food to his. This man… my FATHER never wants to teach me anything idk why. Plus he doesnt have the patience at all to teach. Idk what's wrong with him because all his cooking secrets will basically go with him to the grave. I went to his house for dinner today and asked him for the millionth time for him to share with me how he makes the food and he just tells me oh it's on youtube, you can look it up. BUT thankfully i found Yousef. How can i be part iranian and idk how to make these dishes, thats just a criminal offense.

  4. I met an Iranian friend and she lives alone in the US so she hasn’t had authentic Iranian food in a very long time. I will definitely make this for her to have a piece of her home again- thank you for the recipe!
